What is prototecture?

A common question: What is Prototecture? It started out as a manifesto for architecture and has evolved into a life philosophy based on the idea of the prototype: developing and documenting a process/product that is in a constant evolution. Really there is no end, just a constant directed stream of ideas based in sustainablity. Sustainability is key. A sustainable process is efficient and endless. At the very least it takes no more than it gives. However give and take are subjective, not necessarily quantifiable. Sustainability, like culture is intuitive. Prototecture is a group effort. We (Prototecture and Friends) work on prototypes only to give them out so that others can develop them. We can take them back later in time and tweak them some more! It’s open source. This means that it’s simple enough that it can be communicated, understood and learned from.
